DASH members Zlata Vuksanović-Macura and Els Keunen will present a paper titled ‘Differing methods of estimating housing needs in European secondary cities’ at the RC21 conference in Vienna in July of this year. The paper is co-authored with Marco Allegra and developed in the framework of the DASH project.
This summer, DASH will be well-represented at the European Network for Housing Research (ENHR) conference in Oslo from 30 June to 3 July. Current and former DASH’ers will have prominent positions in the programme!
We are pleased to inform you that the 22nd annual Scientific-Professional Conference, "Urbanism and Sustainable Development," has successfully concluded. It took place from May 28 to 30 in Bajina Bašta, a small town in western Serbia.
The 21st International Scientific and Professional Conference "Urbanism and Sustainable Development" took place in late May 2025 in Srebrno Jezero, Serbia. The conference was organized by the Serbian Association of Urban Planners (SUPA).
On 6 March 2024, Sónia Alves, on behalf of herself and Dulce Lopes (professor of Planning Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra), presented the paper “Land policies for affordable housing – the case of Portugal” at the 19th annual conference of the International Academic Association on Planning, Law, and Property Rights (PLPR), 3-7 March 2025 in Cardiff (Wales, UK).
On February 18th, 2025, DASH member Marco Allegra participated in the inaugural session of the City and Regional Sustainability Transitions Webinar Series of the Regional Studies Association. Dr. Allegra delivered a talk on affordable social housing based on the work of the DASH project, titled “Perspectives on Social Housing from Different European Countries”
In August 2024, four DASHers attended the ENHR conference in Delft, focusing on Making Housing Systems Work: Evidence and solutions. We participated with presentations as well as the coordination of workshops. A very fruitful outlet for DASH work and great inspiration for future work.
A large number of experts from Serbia and abroad, usually numbering over 150, attend this conference. Attendees include those working in professions related to planning, spatial planning and land administration management, as well as managers and employees of state and local self-government bodies, employees of universities, private companies, non-governmental organizations and civil society representatives.
In October 2024, DASH member Marco Allegra presented a paper on local housing strategies (co-authored with Caterina di Giovanni, ICS-ULisboa) at the 5th International Congress on Housing in the Lusophone Space (CIHEL), which took place in Lisbon on October 2-4.
